PolyCore Software to Distribute Quadros Systems’ RTXC/mp Worldwide
RTXC/mp RTOS integrated into new multi-core software platform
Foster City, California, March 29, 2004 — PolyCore Software, Inc., a multi-core software solutions provider, announced today a technology partnership and a reseller agreement with Quadros Systems, a leading supplier of configurable real-time operating systems. The reseller agreement outlines a partnership in which PolyCore Software becomes the exclusive worldwide distributor for Quadros Systems RTXC/mp multiprocessing real-time operating system (RTOS). Through ongoing joint development, the Quadros RTXC/mp will be integrated into PolyCore Software’s Poly-MessengerTM, a next-generation software infrastructure that describes, simplifies and manages the multi-core and multi-processor development processes.
More solution providers for digital consumer, telecommunications, industrial automation, and medical applications are seeking multi-core platforms to maximize performance, power efficiency, scalability, and upgradeability. This creates a need for multi-core software platforms that manage relatively complex designs meeting time-to-market pressures and budget constraints. By integrating Quadros RTXC/mp with Poly-Messenger, PolyCore Software and Quadros Systems together are able to offer end-to-end solutions for applications involving any combination of multiple cores or processors, ranging from DSPs to microprocessors and microcontrollers.

RTXC/mp is the multi-processing-enabled version of the innovative RTXC Quadros RTOS. This next-generation RTOS features two scalable kernels—one thread-based for data plane operations and the other task-based for control plane/real-time operations. Each kernel can be used separately or in combination with the other to flexibly respond to today’s convergent processing environments. The RTXC RTOS supports numerous DSPs, microprocessors, and microcontrollers. Quadros System’s product line includes RTXC Quadnet TCP/IP, a suite of networking protocols, and RTXCfatfile, a DOS-compatible file system, as well as other products for embedded development.
Poly-Messenger offers a next-generation software infrastructure for embedded multi-core inter-processor communication. Poly-Messenger will be scalable, performance driven and offer a unified interface. It supports both connectionless message passing and intelligent data transfers.
