Quadros Systems Selects General Manager for UK and Ireland
Selection completes European Sales & Support Network for RTXC RTOS Family
Houston, TX - October 25, 2005 - Quadros Systems, Inc., a leading
supplier of configurable and scaleable real-time operating systems (RTOS),
is pleased to announce the appointment of Kevin Pope as Quadros general
manager for both the UK and Ireland. This hiring completes the sales and
support structure for Quadros Systems across all of Europe, complementing
a direct sales and support office in Germany and specialized distributors
in Scandinavia, France, and Italy.
No stranger to the embedded systems market, Pope comes to Quadros with
extensive RTOS and protocol stack experience with OSE Systems (Enea) and
Interpeak. Pope has spent thirteen years in the embedded market, recently
serving in positions such as managing director of OSE Systems UK and sales
manager at Interpeak in the US before returning to the UK.
“The RTXC brand holds a long-established reputation and boasts many
innovative features that position Quadros Systems as a major solution
provider to this market,” observed Kevin Pope. “Quadros is a step ahead of
many in its detailed understanding of the silicon. I look forward to
extending this RTXC RTOS forte into new silicon partnerships and solutions.”
One of Pope’s primary roles involves meeting the needs of convergent
application developers building convergent processing applications. As
applications have evolved, the need for systems that combine both control
and DSP capabilities has mushroomed—a trend accelerated by available
hardware platforms such as the Blackfin, StarCore, and iMX processor
families that combine MCU and DSP functionality on one processor. The
Quadros RTXC Quadros dual-mode RTOS is the only operating system that
is optimized for control and datastream in a unified kernel architecture.
This integrated approach streamlines the development process and improves
the efficiency of the system.
Tom Barrett, CEO of Quadros Systems, Inc. welcomed this appointment:
“Kevin’s experience directly complements the unique strength of the RTXC
Quadros operating system to operate in a convergent environment. Having
provided solutions to many of the UK’s leading DSP and microcontroller
customers in the past few years, Kevin knows the developers and
understands the complex needs of this new era in embedded system design.”
In total, Kevin Pope brings nineteen years of experience to the Quadros
team. After studying Computer Science in university, Kevin begain his
career as a software engineer in the UK Defense Communications industry.
He went on to hold positions with leading companies in the embedded
systems market, such as Reflex Technology, Pacific Softworks, OSE,
Interpeak, Unicoi and DHS Tools.
During his time managing OSE Systems UK, Pope secured major accounts
with key players in the communications industry, including Nokia, Lucent,
Ericsson, NEC and several major startups. With Pope at the helm, in three
years, the UK office grew from channel distribution to a direct sales
team offering a full range of services such as training, technical support,
on-site consultancy as well as the standard product offering.
About the RTXC Quadros Family of Real-time Operating Systems
The RTXC Quadros RTOS family features four highly scalable real-time
operating systems, offering distinct performance advantages for each of
the major processing models. RTXC/ss (single stack) utilizes a lightweight
specialized executive to support high data rate and signal processing
applications. RTXC/ms (multi-stack) is optimized for control processing
using an event-driven, prioritized, preemptive scheduler. RTXC/dm (dual
mode) marries RTXC/ms and RTXC/ss and is ideal for convergent processing
applications which combine DSP/dataflow and RISC/control processing in a
single-core architecture. Both RTXC/ms and RTXC/dm are brought together
under RTXC/mp multiprocessing) in various combinations to support
multicore and multiprocessor implementations.
About Quadros, Systems, Inc.
Quadros Systems, Inc. develops and markets RTXC technology, bringing
together RTOS, hardware and software professionals into one development
team to provide innovative technology that maximizes real-time
responsiveness and eases the development process for customers. In
addition to the RTXC RTOS family, Quadros Systems offers a wide range of
communications stacks and middleware including RTXC Quadnet (a suite of
integrated communications protocols) and RTXCflashfile (a high
performance file system for resident flash devices). RTXC products have
been deployed worldwide in thousands of embedded systems, serving markets
such as communications, medical, and industrial automation. For more
