Breaking News: Quadros Systems and 3S-Smart Software Solutions collaborate to bring CoDeSys, the IEC 61131-3 programming system, to Blackfin processors
Like the subatomic particle for which it is named, RTXC Quark TCP/IP software is very small and very fast. Get 3 to 4 times faster packet processing in 1/3 the footprint of other TCP/IP software.

Quadros Systems took an entirely different path to engineering a TCP/IP stack, handling networking packets as data rather than using traditional control processing. The result is a high performance networking stack that delivers lightning-fast performance. The processing speed reduces RAM requirements because fewer sockets are required. And the compact design means the ROM footprint is less than half.
This means dramatic advantages for resource-constrained systems
RTXC Quark TCP/IP software is RFC-compliant for IPv4, with UDP, TCP, DHCP client, ICMP, ARP and IGMP. It is tightly integrated with the RTXC Quadros real-time operating system and takes full advantage of the high-efficiency kernel threads in RTXC/ss and RTXC/dm.

Now you can get all of the advantages of Java in an embedded application without sacrificing performance or memory efficiency. JControl delivers the shorter development, high code reuse, and reliability of Java in less than 500 KB of ROM.
The integration of JControl with the RTXC/Quadros real-time operating systems shields non-trusted Java applets and grants or disallows hardware access. The underlying RTOS also ensures deterministic behavior of the system.

Key Product Features
The JControl API has been customized to the special requirements of embedded applications. In addition to basic classes for general programming tasks, it offers various functionalities for controlling local peripheral components like graphic displays, touch panels, network devices, serial interfaces, RTC, etc. Additional software libraries are included for assisting in different application areas. This includes graphical user interfaces, gateways or control systems with field bus connectivity.
A full-featured configuration of the JControl firmware containing drivers and libraries for all supported peripheral devices uses approximately 420 KB of ROM. The starter application, which takes care of system initialization and the launching of the JControl firmware on power-up, requires and additional 64 KB of memory.
JControl has been tightly integrated with the RTXC Quadros RTOS. The demonstration at Embedded World will run on the ColdFire MCF5329 processor platform. The RTXC/Quadros real-time operating system provides deterministic system behavior and shields non-trusted Java applets from gaining access to the hardware.
The JControl Integrated Development Environment (IDE) is based on Eclipse technology and includes software tools for supporting the application development (dedicated image, music, and font editors). Additionally, the JControl IDE integrates a compiler with optimizer and a comprehensive communication interface, enabling the upload of an application directly to the device – using the network, serial interface or USB.
